Free eBay Title Checker
eBay gives you 80 characters for a listing title, and eBay's own seller advice is to use all of them with words buyers actually search for. Paste your title to see how many you've used, which words repeat, and how much room is left.

A Worked Example
A candle from MerchYak's demo, listed for eBay by hand for this example. Both titles were written for this page.
Beautiful Handmade Candle!! Must See!! Cosmic Galaxy Swirl Candle Great Gift L@@K Home Decor
- 12 characters over eBay's 80.
- “Candle” appears twice.
- “!!” twice and “@@” once: 6 characters no buyer searches for.
- No size, wax type or colors, the details the seller actually knows.
Marbled Pillar Candle 4 x 6 in Blue Gold Orange Paraffin Wax Mica Bubble Texture
- Leads with what it is: a marbled pillar candle.
- Adds the size, colors and materials the seller confirmed.
- Uses all 80 characters, as eBay suggests, with no repeats or filler.
Why eBay Titles Are Different
On Etsy, the current advice is shorter titles, under 15 words. eBay goes the other way: its seller advice is to fill the 80 characters with relevant keywords. If you sell on both, one title won't suit both. See listing limits for 12 marketplaces, each linked to the marketplace's own page.
